Fond du Lac Police Department looks to get re-accreditation through Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group
The City of Fond du Lac Police Department has announced that it will be examined by a team of assessors from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group to look at all aspects of the Fond du Lac Police Department’s policy and procedures, management, operation, and support service
The group will arrive on November 18, 2025, looking for compliance with 230 professional standards and hundreds of dimensions to allow the police department to earn re-accreditation.
Part of the groups rigorous assessment is to take comments from members of the community. Those wishing to weigh in on the departments ability to comply with the group’s standards are invited to offer comments by calling (920) 322-3750 on November 19, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and noon.
A copy of the standards is available at the police department front lobby customer service window.
Comments will be taken directly by the group’s assessment team conducting the review, and are limited to 10 minutes.
Written comments may also be submitted to: Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group, at 7525 W. Greenfield Ave. West Allis, WI 53214.
“As a department, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of service and accountability,” said Chief Aaron Goldstein. “This accreditation process is about more than meeting benchmarks, it’s about demonstrating our ongoing commitment to professionalism, transparency, and trust with our community.”
Once the team completes their review, it will forward its findings to the full Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group Board, which will determine if the Fond du Lac Police Department earns re-accreditation.
Accreditation is granted for three years, during which the department must submit annual compliance reports to maintain its status.
