Fond du Lac Police take domestic violence suspect who fired gun into custody
On Saturday, January 25, 2025 City of Fond du Lac Police Officers safely apprehended a 42-year-old male suspect who had discharged a firearm during an argument inside a residence.
Chief Aaron Goldstein stated, “Domestic violence remains the leading cause of violent crime in our community. FDLPD is dedicated to continuing to address this violence head-on, holding offenders accountable, and providing support for survivors. I urge anyone experiencing domestic violence to reach out to our Domestic Violence Intervention Police Specialist Officer Schulget who is dedicated to providing support and connecting individuals with the resources they need.”
At approximately 8:49 p.m., the City of Fond du Lac Police Department responded to the 100 block of E. 9th Street for a report of domestic violence. FDLPD Officers learned that the 42-year-old male was arguing with his wife and during the argument armed himself with a handgun. At one point during the argument the male pointed the firearm at her and made a comment about shooting her. The male then walked into a different room and fired one round in the basement. FDLPD Officers took the suspect into custody without further incident.
Following the execution of a search warrant, the 42-year-old male suspect was transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail where he faces multiple criminal charges.
