Fond du Lac Rotary organizations to participate in World’s Largest Polio Walk
Two Fond du Lac Rotary clubs are teaming up for a local event as Rotary clubs across Wisconsin and the country participate in the World’s Largest Polio Walk.
The Fond du Lac Morning Rotary and Fond du Lac Noon Rotary clubs will host a 1.5-mile walk on the Marian University campus Saturday, October 24th, 2026.
The walk begins at 10 a.m. at the Stayer Center.
Rotary first became involved with the polio vaccine in 1979, when members launched an immunization project in the Philippines.
In 1985, Rotary officially launched PolioPlus, the first comprehensive global fundraising and immunization campaign by a nongovernmental organization to protect children from the disease.
Registration for the walk is $25 and includes an event T-shirt. Student registration is $10, also including a shirt, while a $100 registration includes a Rotary polo shirt.
The organizations say registration by October 9th is recommended to make sure participants receive their preferred shirt size.
Money raised goes toward Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign. Organizers say donations will be matched two-to-one through an agreement with the Gates Foundation.

The walk is being sponsored locally by Kwik Trip, SSM Health, Festival Foods and Marian University.
