Forensic Science Association to present the 1997 disappearance of Bob Christian

Marian University is hosting a true crime lecture Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

The Forensic Science Association (FSA) sponsors a forensic science/true crime lecture series called Wisconsin Wednesday.  This Wednesday, from 12:00 – 12:50 p.m., the guest speaker will be Detective Tyler Pointon of the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office (he will join via Teams from Sauk County).  Pointon will be discussing a cold case that he is investigating, the 1977 disappearance of Bob Christian.

Christian disappeared at the age of 18 while traveling from Madison to Baraboo for a bow-hunting trip with a friend. Soon after, his 1977 AMC Hornet was found abandoned southeast of Baraboo. The car had been stripped of its wheels, battery, and license plates.

Those interested in being part of this event can join us in-person in room A100 in Agnes Hazotte Hall or via Teams at https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/23531110763137?p=RjFRtsRns3wAFANGZH
