Four officers hit by stolen squad car in Milwaukee County
Four Milwaukee County police officers received non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday, February 3, 2026, during a pursuit where the suspect stole a marked squad car.
The incident started when a patrol officer in the Mayfair Mall parking lot noticed a 26-year-old man being kicked out of the mall, but trying to go back inside. The officer advised him to leave, and the man returned to a parked white minivan.
A license plate check revealed that the vehicle was involved in a domestic violence incident and a pursuit with another department earlier in the day.
When the officer approached the man, he fled prompting a pursuit.
At one point, the suspect got out of the minivan, and ran towards and into an unoccupied squad car.
As the driver fled in the cruiser, he struck multiple officers as well as another unoccupied squad car.
A short time later, the second pursuit ended after the man crashed into another squad car and fled on foot.
He was captured after fleeing through some yards near where he crashed.
All four injured officers were from the Wauwatosa Police Department, and they’re listed in stable condition.
