Free burgers on the way… at George Webb restaurants

The Brewers may have won the coveted 12th game in a row to get free George Webb burgers, but don’t line up outside the restaurant to be first to grab your free beef just yet.

While the restaurant says they will make good on their offer, they say it takes time to get things in place.

Over 25,000 pounds of beef and 170,000 buns need to be ordered, as well as extra staffing needs to be put in place. Things that can’t be done on a moments notice.

George Webb knows what they’re doing when it comes to the burger giveaway as this has happened twice before. Once in 1987 and again in 2018.

However both times it’s happened, the restaurant handled it in different ways. In 1987 they gave out 168,000 burgers in one give away, but in 2018, they capped the burger giveaway between all restaurants at 90,000. After that they gave out another 100,000 free burger coupons to be used at a later date.

According to the restaurant’s website, official details—the when, the where, and how—will be announced soon. Patrons should watch the restaurants social media sites or official restaurant site to find out.

While lots of people are excited to get their free burger, one person in particular really jumped the gun. In a Brookfield George Webb yesterday, even before the game was over, a man went in, demanding his free burger. When told the game wasn’t over yet and that’s not how the giveaway works, he called 911 to complain.
