Freezing rain causes issues on area roads – more freezing rain could form Monday night
An area of freezing rain moved through the area Sunday night, January 4, 2025, just after 6:30 p.m. which caused problems on area roads.
By 7 p.m., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was responding to numerous vehicles in the ditch on I-41, with most of them being in the northern part of the county. Deputies also responded to a two vehicle crash on 41 at the Johnson Street exit.
In the City of Fond du Lac around the same time, a vehicle went off the road near the area of National and Johnson streets and struck an electrical box that controlled the traffic signals at that intersection, turning the traffic lights off until city electrical could come and repair the box.
Another glazing of ice is possible Monday night, as another area of freezing rain could form.
