Grant secured to develop southeast Waupun neighborhood / road

Dodge County has announced with support of the City of Waupun, an over $894,000 Community Development Fund grant to complete infrastructure will take place on Shaler Drive on the south east side of Waupun.

They say the project will support future development opportunities, including 39 single- and two-family housing units, 72 multi-family units, and additional commercial growth.

They add extending the roadway helps unlock new housing options and strengthens long-term community development in Waupun.

Backlash to the announcement could be seen on social media with poster saying it should be made into more single family houses, or should stay farmland, while others say they moved to Waupun for the small town atmosphere and this kind of fast development is taking that away.

No timeline was given as to when the project would start.
