Grendel And Former FDL City Clerk Strands Honored
Two recently retired employees of the City of Fond du Lac were honored with proclamations at last night’s City Council meeting. Every dog has his day and former police dog Grendel got two in a row with a retirement ceremony at the police department Tuesday and a proclamation at Wednesday’s Council meeting. City Council President Sam Meyer says Grendel has earned his day in the sun. The Council had a plaque for his owner Officer Ryan Williams and some treats for Grendel.
Former City Clerk Sue Strands who retired last month after nearly 17 years with the City was also honored. Strands was obviously touched by the gesture. Strands told the gathering it was a privilege to serve the citizens of Fond du Lac and the City Council.
