Group of car thieves from Chicago steal nine luxury vehicles prompting a three county pursuit
A group of car thieves from Chicago broke into a luxury car dealership this weekend and stole nine cars prompting a multi-county police chase.
The group broke into the Fields Auto Group car dealership near Waukesha but that information wasn’t known until well after a police chase involving three of the vehicles, occurred Saturday night. A member of the public called police when they became suspicious seeing the men, all concealing their faces, driving the cars with dealer plates on them.
A West Allis officer spotted them and attempted to make contact but they took off. Three of the vehicles remained together as the officer started a pursuit southbound on I-94. During the chase, a tire deflation device was successfully used on one of the vehicles.
As the vehicle travelled on the rim, it eventually crashed in Kenosha County and the driver was taken into custody.
Afterwards, officers scoured the metro area trying to find the dealership the vehicles were taken from. It wasn’t until a maintenance worker at Fields, found the break in and notified authorities.
The Illinois State Police found an additional vehicle abandoned at a business in Deerfield, Il. Its unknown how many of the others, if any have been located. Police continue
to investigate the thefts.
