Heavy rains forecasted – Flood Watch issued for Fond du Lac County
A Flood Watch is in effect across parts of east-central, south-central and southeast Wisconsin from one o’clock Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon.
The watch includes Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties, along with Green Lake, Marquette, Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha counties.
The National Weather Service says widespread and prolonged showers and thunderstorms are expected to produce one to three inches of rain, with three to six inches or more possible in areas where thunderstorms repeatedly move over the same locations.
That could lead to flooding of rivers, creeks and streams, as well as low-lying and flood-prone areas. Urban areas could also see flooding if storm drains and ditches become overwhelmed or clogged with debris.
Residents in flood-prone areas should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take action if a Flood Warning is issued.
