Highway 49 in west side of county set for fall construction
Construction is set begin Tuesday, September 2, 2025, on Highway 49 from the west village limits of Brandon to just south of Griswold Street in city of Ripon.
49 will remain open during work using daytime flagging operation and individual lane closures. The roadway will be restored to normal two-way traffic for overnight and weekend hours.
The $2.1 million project to improve Highway 49 will consist of milling and resurfacing, paved shoulder widening of 3’ to 5’, gravel shoulders, and new pavement markings. There also will be new curb ramps, and curb and gutter replacement within the intersection of Highway 49 and Ringstad Drive in the city of Ripon. New centerline and shoulder rumble strips will also be placed along 49 within the project limits.
The project is set to take about 30 days to complete and looks to be done sometime around mid November.
