Hogs For Heros to give away two motorcycles this weekend in Fond du Lac
Hogs for Heroes will be giving two Harley Davidson motorcycles away this Saturday, August 24, 2024, to bring the the small Wisconsin charity’s total up to 50 bikes given to injured vets.
The public is welcome to join Hogs for Heroes this weekend at American Legion Post 75 at 500 Fond du Lac Avenue in Fond du Lac, as they return two injured Wisconsin Army Veterans back to the road with Harley Davidson motorcycles for the healing benefits of wind therapy.
Sergeant Brandon Wheaton of Appleton, WI will be the 49th recipient and Sergeant Major Tony Glugla of Oakfield, WI will be the 50th recipient. Both will receive their keys at a ceremony this Saturday in Fond du Lac. Visit www.hogsforheroeswi.org to read both of their stories of honorable service, struggle and strength.
The event runs from 11 AM to 4 PM with the presentation of keys ceremony happening at 1 PM.
This also coincides with the Legion Post 75’s community corn roast and brat fry.
“We’re returning 2024’s last two injured Veteran riders back to the road they’ve desperately missed—making it a monumental 50 motorcycles for 50 deserving lives in just over eight years,” said Kevin Thompson, president of Hogs for Heroes. “Using a Harley-Davidson as the tool to assist our Recipient’s healing, our gift returns their passion for riding and the therapeutic benefits found in the alternative therapy of riding.”
The Wisconsin-only nonprofit will proudly be handing out it’s record-breaking tenth set of keys this summer alone. These healing tools are made possible through donations from our hard-working public supporters.
Hogs For Heroes is a 501(c)(3) Wisconsin-only nonprofit that raises funds to buy Harleys for injured Wisconsin Veteran riders whose healing would benefit from returning to motorcycling. Each gifting is fueled simply by donations…and 100% of every dollar donated buys nothing but a motorcycle for our next Bike & Veteran pairing. Learn more at www.hogsforheroeswi.org.
