Holy Family Catholic Community Pastor to go onto roof of Warming Shelter to raise $200,000 for shelter season
Holy Family Catholic Community is preparing to launch a fundraising effort to support the Holy Family Warming Shelter in Fond du Lac.
On Wednesday, November 18th, Father Ryan Pruess will take to the shelter’s roof as part of the annual Reverend on the Roof fundraiser.
The goal is to raise 200-thousand dollars to cover the shelter’s operating costs for the upcoming season.
The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation has already contributed 50-thousand dollars, putting the campaign one-fourth of the way toward its goal.
Last year’s inaugural Reverend on the Roof fundraiser raised 195-thousand dollars, far exceeding its original goal of 55-thousand dollars.
This year’s event begins at 10 a.m. November 18th at the shelter on East First Street in Fond du Lac.
Community members can donate ahead of the event or contribute during the fundraiser. Information about donating is available at h-f-f-d-l dot org slash roof.
The shelter opened in 2023 and serves adults experiencing homelessness throughout Fond du Lac County.
During the 2025-2026 season, the shelter served more than 120 guests and provided more than 18-thousand meals. It also averaged 28 loads of laundry each night.
The shelter is open from November first through April 30th.
