Horicon Bank Donates $15,000 to Environmental Causes

Horicon Bank announced it’s donating $15,000 to 15 different community causes, all dedicated to benefiting the environment.

Horicon Bank president Fred Schwertfeger says the contribution is made in honor of customers’ response to the bank’s recent eStatement campaign which encouraged choosing a greener option for
monthly bank statements.

Schwertfeger said “As a company committed to sustainability, we’re thrilled to see our customers embrace digital statements, reducing paper waste and contributing to a healthier planet.”

The 15 community causes receiving donations were chosen by bank employees of each community the banks are in. Each of the organizations plays a vital role in fostering a greener future, and Schwertfeger said Horicon Bank is honored to support their work with these donations.

The organizations each receiving a $1,000 donation include:

Winnebago Audubon Society

City of Beaver Dam Tree Planting Project in local parks

Fond du Lac Audubon Society

Friends of Horicon Marsh

Heckrodt Wetland Preserve

Little Green Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District

Marsh Haven Nature Center

Milwaukee Parks Foundation

Neosho Pond Association

Ripon Parks and Recreation Department for planting trees in local parks

River Edge Nature Center

Roots and Branches, Inc.

Tarrant Lake Preservation Committee

Waukesha County Green Team

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to our customers for their commitment to environmental responsibility and for helping us make a difference in our communities,” said Schwertfeger.
