It’s election day 2024
Today is election day and thousands of people in Fond du Lac County that didn’t vote early will be visiting the polls to cast their vote for a variety of races including President of the United States, State and US Senators, Representatives of Congress, and Representatives to the State Assembly.
Fond du Lac County has 59 total polling locations with 9 being in the City of Fond du Lac.
Polls open at 7 AM and close at 8 PM. If you’re in line to vote at 8 PM, you will get to vote, even if it ends up being later than 8. When heading to the polls today, First make sure you are going to the right location. You can enter your address at the website https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/Find-My-Polling-Place.
Wisconsin requires a state issued photo ID be shown to get a ballot, and a reminder that it’s illegal to display your completed ballot so don’t take a photo to display on your favorite social media site.
If you’re a first time voter, or haven’t voted in the last four years, you will likely need to register before you vote which can be done at your polling location. You will need to show proof of residency like a utility bill as well as a state issued drivers license or ID Card. If you don’t have an ID, you can register with the last four digits of your social security number, but you will need that photo ID to obtain a ballot.
Results of the election will likely not be ready by the end of the night, and maybe not even Wednesday as over 1 and a half million absentee ballots also need to be manually entered starting at 7 AM today at the polling locations.
