Lakeland Care Strengthens Local Communities Through Day of Giving

Lakeland Care, Inc. recently held its third annual Day of Giving on May 14, 2025. On that day, employees volunteered their time to support local provider partners through yardwork, spring cleanup, and engagement with residents and members.
Launched in 2023, Day of Giving was created to bring Lakeland Care’s vision of creating a world we all want to live in to life by giving employees a chance to work together in service to provider partners.
The initiative has grown each year, with providers reporting notable benefits and expressing a need for greater support. This year, volunteer requests rose by 27 percent, and more than 20 provider organizations across Wisconsin received a helping hand.
For the third consecutive year, Lakeland Care employees demonstrated the organization’s core value of kindness through service.
“Our mission is ‘Empowering Individuals. Strengthening Communities. Inspiring Futures,’” said Sara Muhlbauer, chief executive officer of Lakeland Care. “The success of our third annual Day of Giving is a powerful example of our mission in action. With 79 staff volunteers supporting 28 providers across the state, we demonstrated what’s possible when we come together with purpose. This is how we move closer to creating a world we all want to live in.”
Lakeland Care encourages community involvement by offering employees 24 hours of volunteer time off annually. This flexible benefit empowers staff to make an impactful difference in their communities and to use their volunteer time off beyond traditional volunteering opportunities.
The Day of Giving continues June 19, 2025, with additional volunteer opportunities for Lakeland Care employees to support provider partners throughout the state.
