Live Propane Fire Training Will Be Offered In Waupun
The Waupun Fire Department will be hosting live propane fire training on Monday, September 18th. They are partnering with the Wisconsin Propane Education & Research Council for the training at 6 p.m. that night at the Waupun City Garage on North Madison Street. Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa says they will have five different scenarios including a fire involving 20 pound gas grill cylinders. There will also be scenarios involving a forklift, bulk tank, and propane terminal piping props. They offered the training back in 2015 and 13 agencies from across Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties sent 80 people to it. The public is also welcome to come and watch the training. An area will be set up to watch the training. DeMaa says some flames will shoot 20 to 30 feet into the air. Any department wishing to send their people to the training should contact Chief DeMaa or Captain Mike Beer at (920) 324-7910.
