Local non profits asked to step up to make downtown building a haunted house

A vacant downtown Fond du Lac building could become a haunted house this Halloween, with the property owner offering the space to a local nonprofit as a fundraiser.

Sam Meyer of Meyer Property Group says the former Edith’s Bridal building at 9 South Main Street is available at no charge to a nonprofit interested in organizing the attraction.

The roughly 18-thousand-square-foot building is scheduled for renovation, but Meyer says it is currently vacant and could provide a unique opportunity for a community Halloween event.

There are just a few weeks left before Halloween, and the proposal comes with safety and property-use requirements. The project would also need approval from the Fond du Lac Fire Department.
