Long running ice fishing contest cancelled due to poor ice conditions

Poor ice conditions are being blamed for the Battle On Bago ice fishing contest to be cancelled this year.

Organizers are stressing that the rest of the event will go on, including raffles, a Friday Fish Fry and live entertainment in a heated tent.

The event, which takes place each winter at Menominee Park in Oshkosh, goes on this Friday and Saturday.

Organizers say If you purchased a fishing ticket for the event from an area retailer or membership package, there are three options to choose from.

Mail tickets in for a full refund
Exchange one Fishing Ticket for one fishing raffle ticket at the event tent Friday or Saturday before 3:30pm.
or Exchange one Fishing Ticket for two general raffle tickets.

In the past, if the event was cancelled, tickets could be carried over to the next year, however that will not be the case this year.
