Man given prison time for Fond du Lac drug overdose death

Yesterday, 48-year-old Michael Kimmons was sentenced in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court to 8 years in prison and 10 years extended supervision for a First Degree Reckless Homicide Conviction related to a fentanyl and cocaine overdose death from January 5, 2021 in the City of Fond du Lac.

Kimmons was convicted in January for setting up a drug deal for the victim, who wanted to use money from a Covid stimulus check to purchase drugs. Kimmons received drugs from the Victim as a means of payment for setting up the drug deal.

The victim was later found at a 7th Street address in the City of Fond du Lac deceased with a phone in his hand. It was that phone that led to Kimmons as detectives found text messages to him from the victim asking to get the drugs, to which Kimmons replied he could.
