Missing Town Of FDL Man Found Safe

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say a missing 77-year-old man was found safe. Sheriff’s Captain Rick Olig says Sydney Knight’s wife reported him missing just before 1 p.m. yesterday afternoon. He hadn’t been seen for 24 hours. The couple lives on Martin Lane in the Town of Fond du Lac and a search of that immediate area turned up nothing. Olig says they learned the couple also owns a property in a wooded area off of Prairie Road in the Town of Fond du Lac. That area was searched by Town of Fond du Lac firefighters and 1st Responders and Sheriff’s Deputies. A City of Fond du Lac ambulance stood by in case it was needed. Olig says at 5:20 p.m. a Town of Fond du Lac fireman found Knight in a wooded area on a riverbank. Knight was taken to St. Agnes Hospital for treatment.
