Multiple serious incidents reported in Washington County Friday
Washington County officials were kept busy with calls Friday, August 9, 2024.
Early in the morning, a pursuit, which was initiated in Germantown, ended in a serious crash when the driver of the vehicle went down a gravel road at a high rate of speed and struck a tree. A 19 year old female passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene while a 17 year old passenger and 19 year old driver were taken to area hospitals.
In the village of Richfield, multiple fire departments responded to a house fire on Woodsfield drive. Upon arrival, crews found fire in the basement of the house and were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.
Then in the City of West Bend, A vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian on Washington Street at Silverbrook Drive. Police said the pedestrian, a 71-year-old West Bend man, was taken to a hospital. Reports on social media stated the man was then transferred from the west bend hospital to a Milwaukee hospital by a medical helicopter. The 45 year old driver of the striking vehicle was said to be cooperating with law enforcement in the matter.
