National Weather Service continues to operate despite government shutdown

The U.S. government is closed. However, because the information the National Weather Service provides is necessary to protect life and property, they will remain working and will be updating and maintaining their website and forecasts during the federal government shutdown.

While workers aren’t getting paid during the shutdown, federal employees that do work during the shutdown will get paid for hours worked once things start back up.
