New police K9 set to start with Fond du Lac Police Department

The Fond du Lac Police Department have announced on their social media the arrival of a new K9 to its team.

K9 Hiro (pronounced Hero), a German Shepherd imported from the Czech Republic, recently completed an intensive five-week training program at a local K9 Police Academy.

According to the department, Hiro earned certification in tracking, handler protection, narcotics detection, article searches and obedience. Partnered with Officer Delveaux, the newly certified K9 team is set to begin patrol duties Saturday afternoon, February 7, 2026.

Police say K9 Hiro was made possible through a generous donation of an anonymous donor.
