Nine Fond du Lac County residents hospitalized overnight with possible carbon monoxide poisoning

Nine people were taken to area hospitals overnight after what authorities are thinking was a carbon monoxide poisoning incident.

Shortly after 2 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a call from the home owner in the unincorporated community of Armstrong in far eastern Fond du Lac County, saying the members of the household were feeling dizzy and vomiting.

Initially the Eden Fire Department and first responders and two Campbellsport ambulances were dispatched, but due to the number of patients, two City of Fond du Lac and one Mt. Calvary Ambulance were also sent.

Six children, ages 4, 7, 9, 12, 14, and 17, were transported by ambulance to local hospitals for treatment of severe symptoms. A 46-year-old male and a 42-year-old female were also transported to local hospitals for treatment of symptoms.

No other information was released in the incident.
