North Fond du Lac crash leaves one in critical condition

Authorities in North Fond du Lac are investigating what caused a crash at a village intersection between a pick up truck and a moped Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Emergency personnel were called to the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Marcoe Street just after 5:30 PM and were told the person on the moped was not breathing with CPR being done by a bystander.

Upon arrival of emergency personnel, the person was breathing on their own but had a weak pulse. Because of the extent of the injuries, ThedaStar Medical Helicopter was called to transport the person to a level one trauma center.

North Fond du Lac ambulance met the helicopter, which landed in the Village Park.

Initial investigation of the crash shows the driver of the pick up failed to stop at a stop sign.

The intersection where the crash occurred was closed for several hours while police reconstructed the crash.
