NORTH FOND DU LAC — Trick-or-treaters stopping along Michigan in North Fond du Lac on Oct. 31 found more than candy waiting for them. Halloween bracelets, juice, a photo station and decorations to take home added extra surprises to the celebration. We also had paper bags that said trick-or-treat and inside they received a cupcake, rice crispy treat, chips, or toothbrush.

LeeAnna Greider, her sister Darlene Myhre and Owen her nephew welcomed visitors, handed out goodies and enjoyed seeing the creative costumes. Greider estimated that more than 300 people stopped by within the first hour.

The Halloween display featured a turquoise “Fright Mobile” surrounded by skeletons, skulls and other spooky decorations. Visitors could stop for photos and enjoy the display while collecting their treats Halloween trinkets.

Some of the most memorable moments came when Halloween decorations went home with delighted visitors. One young man received a Grim Reaper staff that made a creepy sound, while another visitor was surprised when Darlene gave her a Halloween mask.

Darlene also handed out colorful bracelets, adding a little sparkle to the spooky festivities.

According to LeeAnna, the pleasant weather and friendly visitors helped make the day special. Children and adults alike arrived in costumes, with elaborate makeup and imaginative outfits providing plenty to admire.

For LeeAnna, Darlene and Owen, the celebration was a chance to spend time together, connect with the community and share the fun of Halloween. They extended their thanks to everyone who stopped by and helped make the day memorable.
