Arleen “Lee” K. Dowler

Arleen “Lee” K. Dowler, 94,
of Fond du Lac,
died Monday, August 31, 2015, at Grancare Nursing and Rehabilitation.


She was born on May 15, 1921,
in Fond du Lac,
a daughter of Gustav and Katherine Krug Glasow. 
She was a 1939 graduate of Winnebago
Lutheran Academy


On November 8, 1946, she
married Lew A.  Dowler at the parsonage
of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fond
du Lac
, with Rev. Gerhard Pieper officiating.


Arleen worked for Wisconsin
Bell for over 30 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America
Club. She was a longtime member of Good
Shepherd Lutheran
, the church choir,
and the Wednesday morning bible class. She was happiest when all her family was
together.  She enjoyed camping,
traveling, golf, playing cards, and in an earlier time, the cottage on Lake Helen.


She is survived by two
daughters:  Caren (Richard) Gantner of
Fond du Lac, and Debra (Bruce) Klintworth of Kansas City, Missouri; four
grandchildren:  Brian Gantner of Fond du
Lac, Eric (Amy) Klintworth of Lawson, Missouri, Kara (Blaine) Elliott of Belton,
Missouri, and Tammy (Michael) Bernhard of Lomira; five great-grandchildren:
Zackary and Kyler Klintworth, Samantha and Sabrina Bernhard, and Alexandra
Pennington; one great-great grandson, due in October; a brother-in-law, Dow
Dowler of Fond du Lac; two sisters-in-law: Trudi and Fran; nieces, nephews,
cousins, and dear friends. 


She was preceded in death by
her parents; her husband, Lew, on January 19, 2013; and a brother, Carlton; two sisters-in-law
and two brothers-in-law; and a nephew.


Per Arleen’s wishes, private family
services will be held with Rev. Brett Naumann officiating.  Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.


The family would like to
extend their sincerest thank you to the staff at Grancare for their
compassionate care of Arleen.
