Betty Ann Posthuma
Betty Ann Posthuma, 84, of Waupun passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Charleston House Memory Care in Beaver Dam.
Betty was born June 2, 1939 the daughter of Richard and Lucille (Schnasse) Schouten. On December 16, 1960 she married James Posthuma at First Reformed Church in Waupun. The couple resided in rural Fox Lake. Betty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. October 1991 Betty and James left the farm and moved to Waupun. Betty was a member of First Reformed Church. Betty was active in the women ministries with the Bible League. Betty and Jim enjoyed going on various bus tours throughout the United States. Betty was always a caring person, she loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.
Betty is survived by her daughters Marcia (Dan) Donovan, Mary (Mark) Walvort both of Waupun, and Bonnie Helt of Waunakee. Eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren; sister-in-laws Sylvia (Clinton) Smith, and Claraine (Ronald) Buteyn, Alice Posthuma, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband James in 2015, her brother David Schouten; son-in-law Kenneth Helt; grandson, Daniel Donovan, and great grandson Cavin Donovan.
The family wants to thank The Charleston House Memory Care staff for the wonderful care they provided our Mom. Also, want to thank Generations Hospice for their care of her as well.
Funeral services for Betty Posthuma will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Barry Lang officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10a.m until the time of service.
