Calvin J. Deuster

Calvin J. Deuster, 93, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023. He was born in Fond du Lac October 8, 1929, the son of Earle J. and Carol F. (Burnton) Deuster.

Cal attended high school in Freeport, IL, then graduated from Ripon College in 1950. He served in the US Army, during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.

He married the love of his life Frances V. Semenas at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac on September 2, 1950. Fran preceded him in death on June 24, 2018. He retired from American Can Co. after 30 years in sales and as an account executive, having worked in Menasha, Seattle, Los Angeles, Richmond, Kansas City, Chicago, Madison, and St. Paul. Upon retirement in 1985, he and Fran returned home to live on Linden Beach for the past 37 years. They have been members of Holy Family Church-St. Peter during this time.

Cal enjoyed his family, golfing, fishing, boating, and sailing.

Survivors include his three sons, Fr Matthew (Calvin G) at the Vatopaidi Monastery in Greece, Bob (Melinda) of Glenview, IL and Dan (Mary) of Fond du Lac; two granddaughters, Danielle Muellenbach and Shauna (Matt) Wiegel; great granddaughters, Isabella, Scarlet and Lilian; two step grandchildren, Sara and Lucas; sister, Fay Nemick of Canoga Park, CA; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Fran; his parents, brothers-in-law Bob Nemick and Alex Semenas; nephew, Kevin Semenas and step grandsons, Ross Taylor and Trent Taylor.

SERVICES: Cal’s family will receive relatives and friends for time of visitation on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac. A short memorial service will follow at 5:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.
