James J. Auchue

James J. Auchue, 74, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was born on December 25, 1945 in Fond du Lac to the late Raphael “Red” and Rose (Reinhart) Auchue.

Jim attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from L.P. Goodrich in Fond du Lac. He then started his secondary schooling at MPTC. Jim then enlisted in the US Air Force in 1966. After four years serving as an MP, he attended UW Madison in the Culinary Arts and later on graduated from Marian College. Jim worked many years as a plant supervisor at Mercury Marine and loved his time socializing/working at True Value in Fond du Lac.

Jim enjoyed golfing, coaching, playing cards and traveling to the casino. He loved to watch baseball and football, especially the Brewers and the Packers. Jim’s fondest memories were taking the family up to Lake Archibald and spending time at the cabin for many summers. In Jim’s younger years, he enjoyed going with the “guys” on many golf trips around the states.

Jim is survived by his children, Troy (Kelly) Auchue and Troy’s mother, Rose, Kirk (Sherry) Auchue, Kevin (Michelle) Auchue, Jereme Auchue, Kristine (Karl) Mittelstadt, Kara (Tim) Gessner and Kim (Josh) Guell and their mother, Kathy Auchue; 16 grandchildren, Violet, Jack, Chase, Cassie, Nicholas, Emmitt, Ivy, Evelyn, Wyatt, Ryder, Bella, Libby, Kailey, Jackson, Brandon and Claire; one sister, Linda Kautz; nieces, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard (Mary) Auchue; his niece, Carie Auchue and his brother-in-law, Mal Kautz.

Services: Jim’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 2:00 to 2:45 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.
