James W. Mireski

James W. Mireski, 85, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Antigo, passed away on April 4, 2023. He was born on August 15, 1937 in Milwaukee to Edward and Mae (Johnson) Mireski. He attended Riverside High School. On May 15, 1965, he married Marjorie Fischer at St. John’s Catholic Church in Antigo.

Jim worked as an automotive diagnostician in Milwaukee. In 1971, he moved to Antigo and worked for Langlade County. In 1972, he purchased Antigo Delivery Service. In 1979, he started M&J Cleaning and Maintenance. He and his wife operated both businesses until 2011, moving to Lomira to be closer to family. In 2017 they moved to Fond du Lac.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie; his son, Christopher (Sarah) Mireski, and his dear granddaughter, Micayla. He is further survived by nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Betty Thomae and Bonnie Fischer; and brother-in-law, Douglas Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph; his parents; brother, Robert Mireski; sisters, Arleen Wambach and Dorothy Mireski; in-laws, Frank and Erma Fisher, brothers-in-law, Robert Fischer and Harry Thomae.

He enjoyed all sports, especially watching the Green Bay Packers and he also loved going to the casino.

Jim’s greatest joy was making people laugh. He was a great joke teller and was quick witted to everyone, even strangers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave Fond du Lac WI. 54935. The memorial service will begin at 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
