Janet Mae Rabbitt

Our angel on Earth is now our angel in Heaven. Janet Mae Rabbitt was called to Heaven peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Janet was born on October 30th, 1942, in Rolfe, Iowa. She was known for her gentle, kind, sweet, and genuine heart. Anyone who met her loved her. She was strong in her faith and extremely proud and passionate of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Mae Pederson (Humboldt, Iowa), brother Kenny Pederson, and her husband Donald Rabbitt (Fond du Lac, WI).

Her family raises her up in prayer, her daughter Lynne (Marty) Schibbelhut (Fond du Lac); granddaughters Sydney (Brian) Schlagenhaft; great-grandson Beau and great-granddaughters Shania and Shandra; daughter Ann (Joe) Woods (York, PA); grandsons Jordan (Morgan) and Joshua (Carly); granddaughters Jena (Tony) and Jianna; son Brian (Angie) Rabbitt (Milwaukee); grandsons Caleb, Adam, and Jacob; and her sisters, Jane (Bill) Cirks (Des Moines, IA) and Dee Pederson (Rolfe, IA).

Janet was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated most of her life to her family. She was a bookkeeper for the family business and a travel agent, and was very active in church where she was a part of the Tabitha circle, Loaves and Fishes, and the church council. Later in life, her love of family and traveling and family was evident in how she lived. Her time was spent traveling to see her grandchildren to support their sports and theatre. Janet truly loved spending time with her family, and she will be deeply missed and forever treasured.

Janet’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Church of Our Saviour, 363 S Main Street, Fond du Lac, WI. Janet’s funeral service will follow the visitation. Cremation will take place following the service and inurnment will be Wednesday, February 22,2023 at 10:00 AM at Rienzi Cemetery.
