Joan Ditter

Blessed to be on this earth for 100 years, Joan Ditter entered the kingdom of heaven on March 28, 2023. She was the youngest child of her beloved parents Andrew and Marie Neuberger. In her youth, Joan worked at Woolworths in downtown FDL. After raising 5 children, she returned to the workforce at the FDL County Clerk of Courts Office.

Joan is a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church which is now part of Holy Family Parish. After retirement, she was active with the St. Vincent DePaul Society serving for many years as the Treasurer.

Joan married Clarence Ditter in 1947 and they were blessed with 5 children: Diane (Mick) Ringeisen, Dan (Sandy) Ditter, Mark (Sue-deceased) Ditter, Janice (Steve-deceased) Flader, and Joe (Suzanne) Ditter.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings; Helen (Lyle) Berenz (who also lived past 100), Robert (Delores) and Leonard (Betty) Neuberger. Also preceding her in death are her in-laws; Mary and Henry Ditter, Alice (Ralph) Sabel, Ray (Ethel) Ditter; Bill (Kathleen) Ditter, Stella (Clem) Birschbach, Alvin (Jane) Ditter, and Harold Ditter (Purple Heart Recipient at Normandy in WWII).

Joan is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation: Visitation will be held on Monday April 3, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 232 S. Peters Ave., Fond du Lac.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 12:00 PM. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials in Joan’s name should be directed to Holy Family Parish.
