Joseph “Joe” Eckberg

On Sunday November 16, 2025, Joseph “Joe” Eckberg, 27, was called home to be with the Lord. Having been made new in Christ, he now rejoices in the fullness of God’s eternal promise. He was born September 22, 1998 in Waupun, Wisconsin to Jim and Renee (Miedema) Eckberg.

Joe graduated from Horicon High School in 2017 and recently attended Onward Adult Day Center.

Joe enjoyed going for walks, colorful lights, playing with shiny mylar balloons, and enjoying time with his loving family. He was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan and enjoyed attending many games. He loved the attention, noise, and chaos of his five young nephews. Joe impacted all who met him with his contagious smile, enduring strength, and unconditional love.

Joe will be dearly missed by his parents, Jim Eckberg and Renee Eckberg; grandparents, Wayne and Faith Miedema; siblings, Justin (Hannah) Eckberg, Jayme (Frank) Rogan, Jessica Eckberg; step-sibling Andrea Melms; and nephews Frankie, Dawson, Wayde, Jaymeson, and Harlan.

Joe was preceded in death by his half-brothers Ethan and Erik Eckberg, grandparents Ken and Jan Eckberg, and aunt Anita (Eckberg) Mier.

Joe’s family would like to send their sincerest gratitude to the many caregivers and aids who assisted him throughout his life – especially Cindy Forster, and to the doctors and nurses at Aurora Medical Center, Oshkosh, for their support and advocacy in his last days.

Joe’s family invites friends and relatives to a time of visitation on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 9:00-11:00 AM at Community Church, N6717 Streblow Dr, Fond du Lac, WI 54937. A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:15 AM following the visitation. Joe’s favorite color was red but he enjoyed anything bright and cheery, so please wear your brightest outfit in honor of him.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Onward Adult Day Center, Rosendale, WI.
