Joseph M. Baulie
Joseph M. Baulie, 63, of 20 Forest Ave. died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at home. Joe was born in Fond du Lac on January 12, 1950; son of Matthew L. Baulie Jr., and Margaret (Parker) Baulie.
He was preceded in death by his mother (1951) and father (1995) and beloved grandparents, Matthew and Hessie Parish Baulie. In past years, Joe had worked as a skycap at the Milwaukee Airport for 15 years and also, the Buggy Wash in Fond du Lac. Joe was proud to be a liver-transplant survivor of almost 20 years. He had health challenges for some time and succeeded in facing them with optimism and humor. He did not have much in the way of possessions, but was always willing to share a meal, drink, laugh or a five dollar bill!! He loved the New York Yankees and music, especially the Beatles and jazz.
Survivors include his long time special friend, Phyllis Hull’Appiah and step-daughters, Amber Hull and Angel Hull; granddaughter, Darriauna Spencer, grandson, Isaiah Jackson, god daughter Princess Sharp, long time friend, Pauline Rife, who will greatly miss discussing books and music with him. Among the relatives that have been inspired by Joe, are second cousins Ken Parish (Sandy) and Christina (Parish) Hemme (Dennis) from the Appleton area, Donna Parish of Illinois, and others who also cared. There are many other friends and family that will miss his optimistic outlook.
Thanks are due to the University of Madison Hospital and St. Agnes Hospital of Fond du Lac for years of empathetic care of Joe. Appreciation is also given to the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home in Fond du Lac (Stephen Uecker) for final arrangements.
There may be a private memorial service in the months to come.
