Kathleen “Kathy” S. Fee
Kathleen “Kathy” S. Fee died Wednesday, August 14, 2013, in the Town of Forest as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born September 30, 1959, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Duane and Marcheta Lund Scribner. Kathy was a 1978 graduate of Marshall University High School in Minneapolis, and later received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1982. On May 24, 1986, she married Daniel “Dan” J. Fee in Minneapolis. She taught music in the Fond du Lac Elementary School system, and did long term substitute teaching in many of the Fox Valley schools. Kathy gave private piano lessons for over 25 years, worked for Hansmann’s Garden Center, and currently was employed by Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mt. Calvary as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Along with her love of music, she enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Kathy dedicated her entire adult life to helping people in need. As a teacher, she had a special place in her heart for struggling students, reaching out to kids with special needs and those coming from poor or broken homes. Later, when life prompted her to switch careers, Kathy trained to become a certified nursing assistant and spent her time caring for the elderly. Kathy was always willing to help, whether it was students, patients, or complete strangers, but her three children were Kathy’s ultimate priority and joy. The unconditional love and pride she felt for her sons and daughter is reflected in the sacrifices she made and great lengths she went to in order to care for and support them. Kathy had a moral compass rooted in compassion and a caring heart that knew no exceptions. She was happiest knowing she was helping others grow and succeed, whether it was students in her classroom, plants and flowers in her backyard garden, or loved ones in her own family. Kathy has left a lasting impact on countless people and will be missed and remembered by all who knew her.
Surviving is her husband, Dan, two sons, Peder Fee of Madison, and Joe Fee, of Ann Arbor, MI, a daughter, Ellen Fee, of Minneapolis, her mother, Marcheta Scribner of Minneapolis, four sisters, Kirsten (Bruce) Mebust and Lisa (Scott) Sater, both of Minneapolis, Maria (Chuck) Sommer of North Branch, NY, and Emily (Michael) Scribner-O’Pray, also of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her father.
