Lois Mae (Rauh) Beistle
Lois Mae (Rauh) Beistle of Fond du Lac passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Columbus Health and Rehab in Columbus, Wisconsin. She was born to the late Erwin and Lillian (Wiesner) Rauh. She grew up on the family farm in Slinger.
Lois married Rayner “Tiny” Beistle on May 30, 1959, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Allenton, WI.
Lois graduated in 1953 from Slinger High School in Slinger, WI. She worked as a telephone operator for a time after high school. After her marriage to Rayner, she stayed home to care for their children. When the family moved to Lomira, she went back to work. She had a variety of occupations which included a Nurse’s Aide at Hope Nursing Home, Lomira, a cook in local restaurants; Schreiner’s Restaurant, Bublitz Family Restaurant, and McDonalds. For a time, Lois did babysitting in her home. She was also a Special Needs Van Driver for the Lomira School District.
Throughout her life Lois was an avid gardener, both vegetables and flowers. She also was an avid Packers fan, owl collector, and bird watcher. Lois enjoyed fishing and family vacations in northern Wisconsin. She was a proud grandmother and great grandmother and loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her three children, Lyle (Katherine) Beistle, Karen (Mark) Krueger, and Jean Jean-Rene; six grandchildren Nicholas and Amanda (Zach Susa) Beistle, Kelly (Ken) Sarah, Kim (Brent) Hug, James and Fhillicia Jean-Rene; five great grandsons Logan, Luke, and Levi Sarah, Noah Hug, Sawyer Susa. She is further survived by her brother Erwin (Mardell) Rauh; sisters-in-law Darlyne Rauh, Betty Beistle, and Helen Beistle; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, her parents, sister Ruth (Lester) Kratz, brother George Rauh, brothers-in-law John, Tom, Howard, Peter (Marlene), Paul, and James Beitsle; sisters-in-law Jeanette (John) Weinberger, Ramona (Rueben) Pfeifer, Rita (Ralph) Eisenmann and other relatives.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 S. Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the visitation at 11:00 AM. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac, WI.
