Mary C. Mundl

Mary C. Mundl, age 82, of North Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Touchstone Assisted Living in North Fond du Lac. She was born on May 13, 1940, in Barron, WI, the daughter of Jalmer and Clara (Falk) Viitanen. Mary graduated from Barron High School in 1958 and then went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin River Falls. On September 12, 1964, she married Eugene C. Mundl. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2005.

Mary worked for many years as a library assistant at Friendship Learning Center in North Fond du Lac. She was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ and was involved with bible study and the bell choir. Everyone knew Mary as the Tupperware lady and for her love of attending every concert in the Fond du Lac area. She loved music and played in the Fond du Lac Symphonic Band. Over the years Mary loved going to the family lake house, waterskiing, cross country skiing, and golfing.

Survivors include two children, Mark (Stephanie Baudhuin) Mundl and Julie (Frank) Eichstaedt; two grandchildren, Annika and Kayla; one brother-in-law, Dick (Doris) Mundl; one niece, Janet (John) Ortberg; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jalmer and Clara Viitanen; and her husband; Eugene C. Mundl.

Services for Mary will be held in spring at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Fond du Lac. Service times will be determined at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
