Nancy Lee Hoxsey Nieman
Nancy Lee Hoxsey Nieman, 89, passed away Thursday August 1, 2024 at St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born in Madison, WI to the late Lee and Esther (Jensen) Hoxsey on October 15, 1934. She married Ronald Nieman on December 29, 1953 in Madison. They celebrated 70 years of marriage. Nancy was employed as an administrative assistant at Moraine Park Technical College. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.
Nancy loved her quilting friends and the time they spent shopping for fabric, going to quilting shows and lunching. Ron and Nancy enjoyed spending time together with family at their cottage on Lake Noquebay in Crivitz.
Nancy’s grandchildren were a huge part of her life. She and Ron took them on various adventures all over the Midwest. As the grandkids got older, you could find them attending various sporting events, not only cheering on the grandchildren but also their friends.
She is survived by her husband Ron; son Michael (Joy) Nieman of Beaver Dam; daughters Julie (John) Lamancusa of De Forest and Jennifer Zacherl of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Stacia (Nate) Taverner of Windsor, CO, Chad Nieman of Beaver Dam, Dan Zacherl (Lauren Richardson) of Fond du Lac and Claire Zacherl (Kyle Pierce) of Fond du Lac; two great grandchildren Dexter and Harvey Ertel of Windsor, CO; two sisters Jean Levin of CA and Elaine McGregor of FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by mother and father-in-law, Harry and Grace Nieman and son-in-law, Peter Zacherl.
Nancy’s family invites relatives and friends to Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent St., Fond du Lac on Thursday August 8, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Phillip Enderle will preside. Nancy will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park in Madison, WI.
