Raymond Clifford Gielow

Raymond Clifford Gielow, 78, of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away peacefully at home on April 26th, 2023. Raymond, fondly known as Ray, was born to Betty and Raymond Gielow Sr., on June 28th, 1944, in Fond du Lac, WI. He was a talented athlete in his youth, who loved playing tennis, baseball, and golf. He was also a scholar and attended UW Stout to receive his degree in architecture and drafting. After graduating, Ray started with the State of WI prison system as an educator and supervisor. Ray is survived by his wife Barbara and two children, Chris, and Alissa (Travis) Vielbig. He is survived by his three grandchildren; Savanah Gielow, Brandon Ruples, and Trenton Vielbig; two sisters Karen (Doug) Zwiezig and Linda Gaffney. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Betty Gielow Sr. and many other beloved relatives. Ray was passionate about being a good family man, friend, and neighbor. He loved spending time with his wife Barb, keeping the lawn immaculate, feeding the birds, tending to flowers, and loving his little furry friends Smudgen and Winston. Ray was a consummate prankster and story teller as well. One can be sure Ray’s group of buddies, who had preceded him in death, are now joining him in the most magnificent golf game of Ray’s life. SERVICE: There will be a graveside service at Rienzi Cemetery: N6101 Co Rd K, Fond du Lac, 54937 on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. Flowers and condolences can be sent to N7771 Ledgeview Springs Dr. Fond du Lac, WI 54937.
