Rodney Brajdic
Rodney Brajdic, affectionately known as Mr. B, Coach, Papa Bear or Braj, formerly of Pheasant Drive, Fond du Lac, passed away February 5, 2023, at the St Francis Home, with his loving family at his side at the age of 80.
He was born November 19, 1942, in Sturgeon Bay, WI, a son of the late Stephen and Marion Brajdic. Ron was a graduate of Fond du lac HS class of 1961. On December 9, 1961, he married Julie Lallier at St. Joseph’s Rectory, Fond du Lac.
During his youth, Ron was employed by McDonalds. Later many wonderful years at JF Ahern Co. For 16 years, “Coach” or “Mr. B” mentored many basketball players at St Joes. Julie and Ron ran the concessions stands for St. Mary’s Springs for 20 years where he was awarded booster of the year for many years. Ron and Julie used their expertise in running the concession stands and purchased the A&W Drive In in Fond du Lac in 1983. “Papa Bear” had a passion for his employees by helping many through college or simple things like getting them transportation to work. Rodney loved fly fishing and time at the cottage with Julie and family. Rodney was a member of Holy Family Church.
Survivors include brother, Stephen; three sons, Gregg (Debi) Brajdic, Gary Brajdic, and Jim (Debbie) Brajdic; and her children Rodney and Sarah, a daughter, Dawn (Travis) Smyre; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn (Joel) Vondracek; one great grandson, Grayson, and by other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Marion and siblings, sister Patsy and brother Rick.
Visitation: The family will greet relatives and friends at the Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth St Way, Fond du Lac, WI 54937, on Friday February 10th, from 9:00AM to 10:45 AM.
