Ruthe Shultz

Ruthe Shultz, age 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Prema Ashton Hills in Covington, Georgia.
Ruthe was born September 30, 1940, in Huron, South Dakota. In 1958, she married Maurice “Maury” Shultz, the love of her life. Together, they shared 57 years of marriage until Maury’s passing in 2015 and built a life centered around their family in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. They cherished watching their children grow, marry and raise families of their own. For Ruthe, few things brought greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruthe is survived by her children, Chad Shultz and his wife, Shirl; Cleve Shultz and his wife, Donna; and Cassandra Bassetto and her husband, Steven.
She is further survived by her grandchildren, Camric Shultz and his wife, Jackie; Kelsea Hoy and her husband, Josh; Maxx Shultz and his wife, Blakely; Hunter Shultz and his wife, Lauren; Avery Shultz; Karson Bassetto and his wife, Brittany; and Kaden Bassetto; and her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Waylon, Tyler, Hudson, Raegan, Milo, Coen, Dakota and Tucker.
Ruthe is also survived by her sisters, Marilyn Ritchhart and Marsha Carlson; nephew, Brandon Ritchhart; and nieces, Aubrey Lisiecki and April Ibarra.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Maurice M. “Maury” Shultz; her mother, Reva Gross; her father, Pete Hofer; and her brother, Donald.
The Shultz family extends its heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Prema Ashton Hills and Southern Grace Hospice for the kindness, compassion and care they provided Ruthe during the final months of her life.
Ruthe will be returned home to Fond du Lac, where she will be interred at Rienzi Cemetery, alongside Maury. There will be no visitation or funeral service. The family will gather for a private memorial service at the Rienzi Cemetery Mausoleum at a later date.
For those wishing to honor Ruthe’s memory, the family suggests a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, an organization that has held a special place in the Shultz family’s hearts as Ruthe and Maury’s daughter, Cassandra, has courageously managed MS for more than 30 years. Donations may be made through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
After 11 years apart, Ruthe will once again be at rest beside the husband with whom she shared a lifetime.
