Winifred M. Workun
Winifred “Wyn” Mae Johns-Workun, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Whispering Pines Nursing Home, Ripon, Wisconsin. Wyn was born in Rochester, New York on July 18, 1931 to Franklin Newton Johns and Frances Isabelle Hartman-Johns. Wyn worked at Eastman Kodak and Highland Memorial Hospital, Rochester, New York, and Children’s Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She resided in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She was a “Foster Grandparent” at Chegwin Elementary in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Wyn was a talented tailor and enjoyed writing poetry.
Wyn is predeceased by her husband Paul Albert Workun, her sister, Beverly (Don) Beukman, and a special niece, Frances Beukman. Wyn leaves behind her son, Gary Merrill (Jean); grandchildren, Sarah Merrill, Ryan Merrill (Gloria), Renee Merrill, and Natalie Eriksson; five great-grandchildren, and a special nephew, Bill Beukman (Lois).
Services were held back in October of 2024.
