One in custody after stolen vehicle in Ripon and two high speed pursuits in Fond du Lac

At 10:44 PM Sunday, December 1, 2024, a City of Fond du Lac Police officer came upon a vehicle that was stolen from Ripon a few hours earlier.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated in an attempt to elude. At this point a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy was also following the vehicle.

A pursuit ensued south on Main Street but officers lost site of the vehicle and the chase was terminated.

A short time later, the 2015 black Infinity was spotted again and it almost struck a City of Fond du Lac squad. A second pursuit was initiated east on 21st Street and then north on Park Avenue. The driver continued on Park Avenue with the vehicle’s lights off until he entered Lakeside Park where he crashed into a tree at the intersection of Park and Lighthouse Drive.

Officers surrounded the vehicle and the suspect was taken into custody. The driver was transported to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital to be checked for injuries.
