One Killed In 151 Crash Near 41

On Saturday, January 14, 2023, at approximately 5:44PM, the Fond du Lac County Communication Center received multiple calls of a multiple vehicle accident on Highway 151, near Interstate 41, in the Fond du Lac Township of Fond du Lac County.

Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Additional responding agencies included the City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue, City of Fond du Lac Police Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Initial investigation indicates a pickup truck was traveling southbound on Highway 151 approaching the stop lights on Highway 151 near Interstate 41. Traffic for Highway 151 southbound was stopped for the traffic lights when the pickup truck, traveling at highway speeds, collided into the rear of two vehicles that were stopped for the traffic lights. The vehicles were a black passenger car and a white SUV.

The black passenger car was occupied by a 58-year-old male from Waukesha and a 62-year-old female from Waukesha. Deputies located the 58-year-old male without a pulse upon their arrival. Deputies and first responders attempted lifesaving efforts, but the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 62-year-old female was transported from the scene by the City of Fond du Lac Ambulance to the hospital where she is in serious but stable condition.

The driver and only occupant of the pickup truck was identified as a 56 year old male from Oshkosh. He was transported by the City of Fond du Lac Ambulance to the hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries. 

The occupants of the white SUV were uninjured.

At this time, names are not being released pending notification of family members. Speed and alcohol are contributing factors for this crash.
