Over a million dollars raised to support food insecure families in Iowa & Wisconsin

The Alliant Energy Foundation raised $1.2 million to support local food programs across Iowa and Wisconsin. The amount is the largest on record in the company’s 20 years of hosting their annual Drive Out Hunger event and doubled the amount raised in 2025.

Drive Out Hunger is the annual golf event and signature fundraiser for the Alliant Energy Foundation, connecting business partners across the country to raise funds benefitting programs that alleviate hunger across Iowa and Wisconsin. In total, the event has raised over $8 million for hunger relief and provided over 40 million meals to help those facing food insecurity. This year’s 20th anniversary celebration also included a record of 91 sponsors supporting the cause.

Proceeds raised from Drive Out Hunger will be distributed to local organizations to address the needs of today, while also designating funds to serve longer-term hunger needs into the future.

“We are proud of the significant support we are able to provide during our 20th anniversary Drive Out Hunger event in collaboration with business partners from around the country,” said Andy Kitslaar, Executive Director, Alliant Energy Foundation. “These investments will support underserved areas across Iowa and Wisconsin and include mobile pantries that bring food directly to communities lacking permanent food bank infrastructure, increasing access for families in need. Funds will also be used to support trucks and equipment that enable food banks to rescue surplus food from farms and retailers as well as deliver fresh and shelf-stable items to partner agencies, schools and pantries.”

Hunger and Housing is a key giving area for the Alliant Energy Foundation. In addition, the Alliant Energy Foundation supports programs that promote workforce readiness, environmental stewardship and community safety and engagement.
