Packer game day traffic snarled by crashes

Congested traffic en route to the Green Bay Packers game Thursday, September 24, 2026, got even worse thanks to a few crashes.

The first issue came in Outagamie County when two crashes in the same area of 41 northbound north of Kaukauna backed up traffic for miles. Five cars in total were involved in those crashes. Injuries were reported in the first crash which involved three vehicles.

Wisconsin State Patrol Troopers recognized the impact the crashes would have on the game day traffic and requested tow trucks be sent to the scene before they or any other emergency responders even arrived on scene. The Wisconsin DOT reported it took just 35 minutes to get the highway back open to all traffic.

Another incident occurred in Fond du Lac County on Highway 26 just south of Rosendale. Northbound traffic was already backed up several miles from the stop lights in Rosendale when the crash happened in the northbound lanes. This crash also reportedly had a couple minor injuries reported.
