PHOTOS: Tom’s Drive Inn Fond du Lac location officially open for business

About 150 people were lined up around the building Monday, July 13, 2026, to be one of the first to order food from Tom’s 10th Wisconsin location at 876 east Johnson Street in Fond du Lac.

Holly Tousey of Fond du Lac arrived at the business at 8:30 a.m. to be first in line. Tousey is no stranger to Tom’s saying it’s her favorite restaurant, visiting Appleton locations whenever she gets the chance. She’s now close enough to walk to Tom’s as she says the Fond du Lac location is only three blocks from her house.

The first meal served after the official opening was a number one combo meal which is Tom’s Special Cheeseburger, a side of cheese curds, and a shake, served to Tousey, who sat down in the air conditioned restaurant to eat after waiting just over two hours in line to get in.

Taking center stage for the ribbon cutting was owner Scot Grishaber, son of Tom’s founder, Tom Grishaber, who stood next to Scot, surrounded by Fond du Lac staff, along with trainers from Appleton area locations.
